Study of IV Iron to treat Unexplained Anemia
  • Purpose of Study:

    This study is testing the effectiveness of the investigational use of intravenous iron in subjects with unexplained anemia.


  • Who is eligible?
    • Age ≥ 65 years old
    • Hb concentration ≥ 9.0 g/dL and < 11.5 g/dL (women) or < 12.7 g/dL (men)
    • Serum ferritin level ≥ 20 and ≤ 100 ng/mL
    • Unexplained anemia
    • Able to walk on own without the use of assistance
    • Able to understand and speak English

  • When and Where?
    Recruitment and enrollment is currently open. Study visits will occur at the UCLA Anemia Clinic and at UCLA's Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC).
