The VA plays a leading role in preparing the nation's geriatricians.
In 1997-1998 alone, 239 health professionals have been trained
in geriatrics at WLA. GRECC produces and disseminates geriatric
readers for 11 different disciplines.

for integration of geriatrics into health professional curriculum
through liaison with the California Council on Gerontology
and Geriatrics, Association for Gerontology in Higher Education,
and professional organizations. Recent White Papers published
through the U.S. Bureau of Health Professions present curriculum
recommendations.
