Position: Health Sciences Clinical Professor
Position Summary/Job Duties: UCLA Health System and the Multicampus Program in Geriatrics and Gerontology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA are recruiting for multiple Health Sciences Clinical Professor positions (rank and step commensurate with experience). The positions will include various amounts of ambulatory primary care and consultation, post-acute and long-term nursing home care, assisted living and continuing care retirement community, inpatient and consult attending responsibilities, and opportunities to attend on the Palliative Care service. Other responsibilities will include teaching UCLA medical students, medicine housestaff, and geriatric fellows. Candidates must be Board certified or fellowship-trained in Geriatrics.
Position: Faculty / Clinician-scientist
Position Summary: The Multicampus Program in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, is recruiting for a Clinician-scientist junior faculty position. The faculty member will be expected to develop an independent research program. The position will include some outpatient, inpatient, and consult attending responsibilities and opportunities to attend on the Palliative Care service. Other responsibilities will include teaching UCLA medical students, medicine housestaff and geriatrics fellows.
Qualifications: Candidates must have completed geriatrics fellowship training and formal training in research at least at the Master’s level, including an advanced degree. Candidates must be Board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.

Position: NP- Nurse Practitioner II - Geriatrics
Job Duties: Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, assist in developing evidence based, collaborative care protocols for dementia; maintain components of a dementia registry and case management system; conduct structured caregiver/care-recipient needs assessments; develop and implement individualized dementia care plans based on needs assessments; communicate care plans and changes in condition to primary care physicians to ensure continuity of care; provide Intensive Dementia Care Management supervised by a physician dementia specialist, which may include: a) in-person sessions with patient and family members; b) telephone follow-up; c) facilitation of appointments with consultants; d) teaching dementia education and management skills to caregivers through individual counseling such as: legal and financial planning with referral to community services, behavioral techniques to avoid/manage behavioral problems, and coping strategies for caregivers; refer, when appropriate, to the California Southland chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or other community-based organizations for services and materials, participate in quality improvement efforts; Assist in the education of physicians and nurses in training.
Job Qualifications: Required: Graduate form an accredited Graduate School with a speciality in NP. Current CA Nurse Practitioner Certificate; Registered Nurse Lic; Ability to perform care responsibilities according to the Standardized Procedures for nurse practitioners in accordance with policy; Working knowledge of geriatrics patients; Working knowledge of interdisciplinary & community-based resources needed to coordinate patient care & facilitate referral; Ability to take medical histories, perfom physical examinations, assessments & implement appropriate diagnostic & therapeutic plans; Ability to administer clinical dementia assessments & dementia rating instruments; Ability to provide education about dementia; Knowledge of advance directives; Demonstrated ability to establish and to maintain professional cooperative & collaborative working relationships & project a professional demeanor; Demonstrated excellent writing skills to compose detailed & grammatically correct correspondences, clinical reports & recommendations; Knowledge of hospital resources & appropriate use of those resources; Proficient with MS Office; Working knowledge of billing, particularly for incident to billing; Ability to develop collaborative relationships with primary care providers & community agency staff; Required: Bilingual Spanish Speaking.
